Spanish law sets the DNI and passport photo: a recent colour photo of the face, 32 by 26 millimetres, on a uniform, plain white background, taken from the front, without dark glasses or anything that makes identification harder. The DNI also asks for a bare head.
No official head size is published, so the card sizes the head to the international standard. The DNI office asks for a sharp photo on good photo paper that shows the whole face, with the eyebrows, eyes, nose, mouth and chin visible.
For a Schengen visa from a Spanish consulate, the photo is about 35 × 45 mm on white with no shadows. Everything is made in your browser; we can't promise acceptance.
