The Foreign Ministry's consular department asks for a 35 × 45 mm photo, in colour or black and white, showing the face and the top of the shoulders, with the face taking up 70 to 80% of the photo. The background must be white and even, with no stripes, spots or shadows; no headwear except for religious reasons, no tinted glasses and no uniform.
The old-type five-year passport without a chip needs one extra photo, and a photo of any child under 14 entered in it. For the ten-year biometric passport, the portrait is taken digitally at the office or consulate. A visa application takes a 3.5 × 4.5 cm photo from the last six months; other details are set by each consulate.
These are the rules for applications through consulates; we couldn't check the domestic offices' pages. The photo is made in your browser, and we can't promise acceptance.
