How to compress an image to 100 KB

1

1

Drop the image

One JPG, PNG or WEBP. The assistant opens with it attached and the request filled in.

2

2

Send it

The assistant compresses the image to under 100 KB, making it smaller in pixels only if the quality steps aren't enough.

3

3

Download

The copy shows its size and dimensions. Ask again if you want WEBP or a different size.

What fits in 100 KB

At 100 KB a photo around 1,000 pixels across usually looks good on screen. A full-size phone photo doesn't fit even at the lowest quality, so the assistant reduces the pixel size when it has to, keeping the photo's shape. If nothing fits, it tells you the smallest size it reached instead of handing you a bigger file.

It tries quality settings from high to low and keeps the first one under 100 KB. The result is a JPEG unless you ask for WEBP, which is usually smaller at the same quality. A PNG becomes a JPEG or a WEBP, and transparent areas turn white in a JPEG. All of it happens in your browser.

What you can do

  • Any JPG, PNG or WEBP to under 100 KB
  • The highest quality that fits
  • Pixel size reduced only when needed, shape kept
  • WEBP output on request

Compress Image to 100 KB: FAQ

01

Will the file be exactly 100 KB?

A little under, usually: the assistant keeps the first quality setting that fits.

02

Can I compress a batch of images to 100 KB each?

A size limit works on one image at a time. For a batch, use Compress Image and pick a level; each level shows its expected size first.

03

Is the original changed?

No. You get a new file, and the original stays on your device as it was.

04

Are my images uploaded?

No. The compression runs in your browser.
