Choose the output format and click Export. When every part is ready, download them; each part is saved as its own file.

Three Ways to Split a Video

Long recordings are awkward to share: a platform caps clip length, an upload form caps file size, or you simply want a lecture in chapters. The splitter turns one video into several files in a single export.

By Parts divides the video into 2 to 100 pieces of equal length. By Duration cuts a new piece every so many seconds (1 to 3,600), with a shorter last piece when the length does not divide evenly. Custom lets you click the timeline to place split points exactly where you want them, with undo and redo.

The parts are cut on your own device and saved as MP4, MOV, MKV or WebM, named after the original with _part1, _part2 and so on. Nothing is uploaded.

Split Video into Parts: FAQ

01

How many parts can I split a video into?

By Parts accepts 2 to 100 equal parts. By Duration makes as many pieces as the video's length allows, and Custom makes one more part than the number of split points you place.

02

How do I split a video into clips of a set length?

Choose By Duration and enter the length in seconds, for example 30 or 60. Every part has that length except the last, which holds whatever remains.

03

Are the parts downloaded as a ZIP?

No. Each part downloads as a separate file named after the original, such as holiday_part1.mp4. Your browser may ask once whether to allow several downloads.

04

Is my video uploaded to a server?

No. The splitting runs in your browser and the video stays on your device. There is no account and no watermark.
